Insomnia
Description
Insomnia is when there are difficulties with falling asleep or other sleep problems. It can be triggered by stress, hormonal imbalance (lack of noradrenaline), medication, drug or alcohol use, anxiety, or depression.
Fatal familial insomnia (FFI) is an extremely rare genetic disorder that results in trouble sleeping. Prion disease causes proteins of insoluble clots to clump together and damage brain cells in centers that control sleep. Total hallucinations are triggered, agonies incompatible with life. The body does not have the possibility of physical regeneration and cell renewal. If a person stops sleeping, he dies in agony in 2 weeks.
