Description

The chronic form of bronchitis manifests itself similarly as acute but without the fever. A typical symptom is a cough that lasts more than a month, or a recurrent cough accompanied by squeaking sounds. Other symptoms of chronic bronchitis are cough with mucus formation (mostly in the morning), morning urge to cough, limited breathing, cough with shortness of breath. Can be caused by persistent consumption of nicotine (“smoking cough”), air pollution, under-cured acute infections, irritating gasses, dust, certain specific diseases (e.g. cystic fibrosis).
