Body System: Integumentary (skin) system , Immune system , Muscular system , Skeletal system

Organ: mouth, neck, skin, mucous membranes

Description

This is an infectious disease caused by the accumulation of white blood cells producing purulent inflammation with the breakdown of dead tissue (pus), bounded by granulation tissue. Can be localized anywhere in the body, most often in the subcutaneous tissue and abdominal organs. The cause of the development is often an injury, with the subsequent introduction of the bacterium into the wound. More serious is the metastatic spread of the infection via the circulatory system, for example, in bacterial endocarditis.
